“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” - Luke 3:11
Pabama: (Rhymes with Alabama) Def: A feeling that there is more. A desire to make a difference, to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Not willing to accept the current state of the world, and not wishing to point any fingers. The burning desire to improve, to fall and fail, to be picked up and try again. To prepare ourselves for eternity. To stand triumphant one day, only through Jesus, and hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

moon run anyone?
Friday night moon run anyone? I really have no ideas, so feel free to toss them in, but if nothing else, we can start at church for, as Noonan coined it, "awkward silence" and then head somewhere to reflect the SON.

A wise man once said.......
God loves me soooooo much that he puts my "art" on his fridge. I scribble some quick little picture, and he laughs and says, "Hey, look at what Mike did!" What a proud parent.What a great reminder that I need not worry about the "quality" of my work, but to simply remember that God is a proud father. How could I not thank him for everything he has done, like place friends into my life to help steer me in the direction I need to go. Thanks for the reminders, Pastor Dyk.

Loaves and Fishes...
A balance begins at $200.00 and in about an hour and a half it drops down to $160.00 yet the Knights purchase twenty traditional Thanksgiving meals for delivery Saturday. And these weren't little meals... nope; these each included 16-20 pound turkeys!Thanks God for letting us hold your money for a little while and witnessing (again) your work!

The net effect of $18
The net effect of deadly malaria

Marita Adelino is not your average 10-year-old.
In a world where children typically want so much, she wants only two things — a best friend and a mosquito net. Yearning for a friend is sketched across her face, a portrait of loneliness.

What is Pabama? (Again)
Pabama is a little elusive to define. Maybe the best summary is when you feel in the Wheel House of the Spirit. The rush that surpasses any rush found on this earth.
Sometimes all you can do is give examples of when you have felt this, or seen someone act in this way. I have an example. Anna Walker (daughter of our own infamous Chris Walker, who plays bass and sings a little on the album Andy Ferris: The Beginning of Much to Say, as well as others) a

The election
In order to stay the well-read popular blog we are, something probably needs to be posted about the election. And since it's awfully quiet around here .... here I go. (There was also Sept 27 .....)
Dyk's random thoughts about the election:
1. In my daughters classes they referred to Mitt Romney as Mint Salami.
2. This election cost: $5.8 billion
3. I feel led to tell you who I voted for. Normally the $5.8 billion spent above does not sway me . . . but I have to admit, I saw a poster that pulled me in . . .

A great prayer to pray
Proverbs 30
'Two things I ask of you, Lord;
do not refuse me before I die;
Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, 'Who is the Lord?'
Or, I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God."
I often try to stick to truth on my own . . . I almost never remember to pray to God for help.

Enough
I have enough, I really do. Pretty soon to celebrate the birth of our savior people will ask me to think up things I need for a list ... but really, I have enough. It's true, but I don't always think and act this way. So when I read a prayer like this one from 'Seeking God's Face', I realize how often I should be praying it ....
"God of all good, the hunger for more plunders our world bare, so I pray to know the meaning of enough. Free me from any sense of scarcity, give me such a full contentment with all you've given to me, such a generous spirit toward my neighbor, that the only thing I don't get enough of is seeking the good of others and the honor of your name. In the name of Jesus, amen."
Wow, now that's Pabama!

Interesting thought about grace
When I think of grace, I usually think about how God is giving me a gift I do not deserve. I read a prayer today that take it to the next level:
'Self-giving God, in the interconnected economy of grace you graciously pay off my debt of sin, so now I owe my neighbor a debt of love. ...'
