“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” - Luke 3:11
Pabama: (Rhymes with Alabama) Def: A feeling that there is more. A desire to make a difference, to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Not willing to accept the current state of the world, and not wishing to point any fingers. The burning desire to improve, to fall and fail, to be picked up and try again. To prepare ourselves for eternity. To stand triumphant one day, only through Jesus, and hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Got stuff?

Recently we helped out a single woman in need. She has since obtained a job and just this week got her own apartment in Grand Haven. We have been told that as of right now her apartment looks a lot like this room... empty! So.. if anyone has extra pieces of furniture (particularly a bed and bedding) or ANYTHING else that you are not using and would like to help out, I am sure that she would love it. Please email Beek and he can help arrange drop offs.

Luke 3:11 - John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same."

The Christmas Story .... Messy

I know, it's just another Christmas story video.

The Power of God

I don't think we realize the power of what we do.  I don't think we realize the power of God.  There is great power in having someone move you (physically).  Someone you don't know, who is recovering from hernia surgery, who lives in another town.  Someone you don't know, on their lunch break.  Someone you don't know who has already donated their Sunday evening to another cause, but still finds an additional hour of time.

There is great power in finding groceries on your porch, and having no idea where they are from.  There is great power in receiving a simple note in the mail.  There is great

Krazy Picture

Moving some stuff requires many things:  willingness to give personal time, strong back, some strategery with packing things on a trailer, and of course safety first.  There's Krazy Karl taking my picture as I snapped his, being as safe as possible.

Keep Praying.....

Some of you have asked for an update to a recent Pabama recipient.  So here it goes....

Last month, I threw out an invitation for a "Moon Run" on a Friday night.  God then made it clear that one of my students was hurting, physically and emotionally, from situations at home with an abusive, drug-abusing step-dad.  So, last minute, we decided to Pabama this family (minus step-dad in jail) with some Christmas decorations - tree, decorations, gift cards for presents, etc.  All in all, it was roughly $500 spent on the

P.S.

This is a P.S. video from Cheese's post.  (Just for fun, and since I can't fix it, just turn your laptop, ipad, or phone on its side.....and enjoy!)

Pretty impressive, dudes.  And all praise, honor, and glory goes to the "Big Dude" - God.

A "Grand" Run

In November the Lord used us to help a large number of families with over thirty large turkey dinners with all the "fixin's"  but that generosity left us a negative balance in our "kitty".   This month; I originally felt the call to do more than just a meal but provide food "staples" for families,  even if it meant a smaller number of families.  With  a little research it became apparent very fast that the struggling economy had increased the number of

Stop Trying to Win Arguments

by Jon Walker

"I beg you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to stop arguing among yourselves. Let there be real harmony so that there won’t be splits in the church. I plead with you to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose." (1 Corinthians 1:10 LB)

This Christmas — Stop trying to win arguments.

Instead, make it your goal to love those who disagree with you or seem disagreeable to you. Go for the love, not the win. In fact, Jesus tells us love will always win; he guaranteed that when he walked out of the tomb.
When you find yourself heading toward an argument with someone this season, use these biblical guidelines

Obeying God Requires Taking a Risk

“After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, ‘Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.’” (Matthew 2:19-20 NIV)

As uncomfortable as it was for Joseph to move his family to Egypt, imagine how scary it would be for him to obey God’s command to come back to Israel. It was like going back into the jaws of the lion. He was going to take Mary and Jesus back to where his son’s life had been in

danger. But because Joseph trusted God and what he was saying, Joseph took the risk and went there because he knew that was the right place to be.

The Bible says, “Even when I am afraid, I keep on trusting you” (Psalm 56:3 CEV). Notice this
