Wow, what if I actually believed this....? What would that mean?
If it's true, how would that change how I live? It seems like a foregone conclusion that I would, if I believed it. (Christian belief does not just consist of knowledge, but also of action)
"Long before he laid down earth’s foundations God had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love to be made whole and holy with his love." (Ephesians 1:4 TM)
“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” - Luke 3:11
Pabama: (Rhymes with Alabama) Def: A feeling that there is more. A desire to make a difference, to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Not willing to accept the current state of the world, and not wishing to point any fingers. The burning desire to improve, to fall and fail, to be picked up and try again. To prepare ourselves for eternity. To stand triumphant one day, only through Jesus, and hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Middle Road
Francis "Don't call me Jackie" Chan says it well in this video clip. It seems funny until I realize, "wait a minute. I think he is talking about me!"
Are we taking the Middle Road?

Jesus' Mission . . . . Our Mission
In Luke 4, just after Jesus was tempted, he returns to his hometown. He goes to the synagogue and reads from a scroll. Our sermon recently made me realize how this is really his Mission Statement, he is just beginning his ministry and here he announces what it's all about.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.

The 'Next Level'
After reading the Bible, and thinking about the extent of God's love, I look at my response in how I live my life. I think I need to take things to the 'Next Level' for God sometimes. But I struggle with what this means.

2 Corinthians 3:18
'And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.' - 2 Corinthians 3:18
Wow ... what a passage. The thought that I am being transformed into the likeness of the Lord .... and then the it doesn't tell me to 'get my ducks in a row' and make sure I am transforming myself ....
'And we ... are being transformed ....'
Thank you God, and Father, help me 'turn to you' (v16) and be open to this transformation.

Rich 'Wheat' Roll
I am reading Finding Ultra by Rich Roll. I came across the following quote, page 149; "Safety isn't just an illusion, it's a cop-out. I know it sounds trite, but there's simply nothing like a near-death experience to remind one of the impermanence of everything. And living imprisoned by fear only to die with regret over dreams postponed was a life neither of us was interested in".
Wow. This guy isn't a believer, but God has thrown some things to him and he is Living!
