- You can kayak it at night, it totally rocks! (We will do this kind of adventure again!)
- "Lighting technology has changed a lot in 15 years" - Mitchem as he is blinded by $13 head lamps from Home Depot.
- Mitchem, Baker, Fogel, Clausing, and Dyk - Almost full moon, temperature in the 50's, a Pabama! adventure if ever there was one!
- We did start above river from the official river start (In Pabama! style), so we kayaked 4 miles in 3 hours, then 2 miles on the Grand to the car. Launched at 9:25PM, reaching the Grand at 12:35AM, with a pull-out time of 1:10AM. Whether in the woods, with the turkey's flying overhead, or jumping trees, or dragging your kayak through the woods, or slicing through the mirror-like Grand River by moonlight, night kayaking is amazing, we hope you can join us next time!
- There is nothing quite like raking your face across the bottom side of a fallen tree just to stay in that boat!
“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” - Luke 3:11
Pabama: (Rhymes with Alabama) Def: A feeling that there is more. A desire to make a difference, to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Not willing to accept the current state of the world, and not wishing to point any fingers. The burning desire to improve, to fall and fail, to be picked up and try again. To prepare ourselves for eternity. To stand triumphant one day, only through Jesus, and hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
